The House That Holiness Built (Part the Third)
15 May 2009 in Uncategorized…abstain from fornication.
This principle covers far more than just the act of sexual sin.
It covers the many approaches and allurements that open the doors for those actions. Modesty is a central theme in this principle. To dress in such a manner as to focus the attention of the opposite gender in an inappropriate fashion is a violation of this principle. Separation of the sexes is also covered by this wall. Much of overt sin begins in a subtle fashion. This is a principle that must be applied to the small things or it will be useless in protecting us from the destruction of lust. James said it this way:

The House That Holiness Built (Part the Second)
29 April 2009 in UncategorizedThe first of the four walls of the house that Holiness built is this:

The church should never be a part of those things which the world worships. In the day of the disciples, this principle would have covered many things such as identifying marks like body piercing, tattoos, and jewelries. The sports of the day were dedicated to the idols that men worshiped as were the entertainments of the theaters. There were symbols and markings of clothing and styles of dress that identified one as a devotee of certain religions. From all these James declared under the unction of the Holy Ghost that the church should have no part.

The House that Holiness Builds (Part the first)
27 April 2009 in Uncategorized1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Paul in speaking to the Corinthian church addressed the lifestyle and conversation of a follower of Christ. In this statement he tells us why we should live a holy and pure lifestyle, for our body is become the dwelling place of that Holy Spirit which sanctifies, justifies, and glorifies us. Through our becoming His dwelling place, we are brought into that relationship that will ultimately save us from both the sin of this world, and the potential destruction of the next.
